We need donations for Paws on Parole

Brandi from A Plus Pet Nanny is collecting donations for Paws on Parole and Alachua County Animal Services. You can drop off any goods at Sweet Paws Bakery in the Wishbones for Pet Box. The following items are needed desperately:
Funds!
Durable rubber toys (example: Huck, Hurley, and Kong toys)
Grooming Supplies
Towels
Pet Food
Treats (particularly soft, jerky type treats for training)

Howl-iday Photos by Millhopper Photography

On December 5th Millhopper Photography will be taking photos of your pets. Gerry and his wife, Donna, do a wonderful job capturing your dog's personality. They came 2 years ago and took photos and did a wonderful job. The picture of my dogs, Abby and Parker, next to my cash register is taken by them. If you think your dog won't stay still for a photography session you will be amazed what Gerry and Donna can do. I have a spastic spaniel, Miss Abby, who he captured beautifully. These photos make amazing gifts for the holidays or for any occasion. The prices are very affordable too!

November Events

November 15th-Paws for Pet rescue 5K at University of Florida to benfit Haile's Angels Rescue. For more information http://www.pawsforpetrescue.com/ The race begins at 8am sharp!

November 20th-Uptown Village off of 39th Ave will be having a Pet Fair. We will have a booth out there selling doggie treats and other goodies from the store. It is from 3-7pm.

November 21st- The Greater Gainesville Dog Fanciers Association is having their show at Westwood Middle School. The Match starts at 9am with obedience, rally, and canine good citizen testing. We will be out there selling our yummy dog treats!

New Cat Collars!

Sweet Paws Bakery now carries cat collars. I love these collars they are stretchy, soft, cool designs, and fully adjustable. You can see some of the designs above or come to the store to check out our selection. Make sure your cat is stylin one of these collars.

Lots of Events for October

Sweet Paws Bakery and doggie daycare will be very busy for the month of October. Here is the list of events that we will be attending and having. I hope everyone will come out and support these events:

Saturday, October 10th 10am to 2pm-National Pet Day

Local Rescue groups will have adoptions and Sweet Paws will be there with yummy treats and toys. There will be raffle prizes drawn every hour. This family fun event is at Nationwide Insurance on the corner of Williston Road and 34th Street. Don't forget to bring your dog!

Sunday, October 18th 11am to 5pm-Alachua Harvest Festival

There are over 160 vendors providing everything from handmade quilts to wood carved roses to temporary tatoos and of course Sweet Paws Bakery will be there selling yummy treats and items from the boutique! The afternoon is a warm, friendly venue for local entertainers who keep the crowd singing along all afternoon from two stages. We usually are set up in front of Conestoga's on Main Street in the city of Alachua.

Friday, October 23rd 6pm to 9pm-Oktoberfest in Haile Plantation Village Center

There will be lots of food, entertainment, and best of all the stores will be open for you to shop. Sweet Paws Bakery will still have Yappy Hour from 5:30-6:30pm with bobbing for turkey dogs. This event is fun for the whole family, there will be games for the kids set up along the street.

Saturday, October 24th 8am to 5pm- McIntosh 1890's Festival

This festival is a large festival that hosts over 250 vendors and an estimated 35,000 visitors. There will be lots of vendors, food, entertainment, and of course Sweet Paws Bakery. This festival is located in the heart of McIntosh. For more information: http://friendsofmcintosh.org/

Saturday, October 31st 9am to 5pm and November 1st 10am to 5pm

The 35th Annual Micanopy Fall Harvest Festival

Many local artists, crafters, and musicians participate in this festival, as well as other artists from across the southeast. Along with the two hundred displays of arts and crafts there are many other attractions. The main stage plays host to a variety of good time music throughout the festival and an old time auction of items donated by participating vendors on Saturday afternoon. Saturday, October 31st 4pm to 8pm Halloween Hauntings at Haile Pasture

There will be a Haunted trail walk, hot apple cider, chili, games, and prizes. Tickets are $4 in advance or $5 at the door. This event is fun for all ages!

Saturday, October 31st 5pm to 8pm Howloween Party at Sweet Paws Bakery

Sweet Paws Bakery will be having a Halloween Costume contest for the dogs! We will have contests for the scariest, cutest, most original, and the funniest costume starting at 6:30pm. During the party there will be bobbing for turkey hot dogs. Bring the kids too we will be passing out candy. Don't forget to check out our huge selection of costumes for the contest.
